Transferring a Domain

AIA LogTransferring a Domain

Sometimes you may want to switch domain providers for whatever reason. Some companies can have all sorts of hidden fees, or their support is not up to scratch. This article will run through how to transfer your domain to AIA Web.

1. Log in to the AIAWeb console using the email and password associated with the account. If you did not receive/do not remember the information, simply hit the 'Forgot Password' option and follow the prompts in the reset password email.

2. From the top menu bar select 'Domains'

3. From the dropdown select 'My Domains'

4. On the left hand side in the 'Actions' panel, select 'Transfer in a Domain'

5. Type in the domain name you want to transfer to AIA Web

6. Type in the 'EPP Code / Auth Code'

Note: The EPP / Auth Code can be obtained from your previous domain registrant, or by filling out the details on the AUS Registry - Domain Recovery page. If you fill out the info through AUS Registry, this will send you an automatic email where you follow the links and prompts to obtain the Code.

7. Make sure you tick the captcha code

8. Hit 'Add to Cart'

9. If there is a fee, you will need to pay the transfer fee. If there is no fee, simply follow the prompts to the end until confirmation.

Transferring a domain from one console to another can take up to 48 hours. Keep in touch with your new domain provider to ensure you can get the website up and running as soon as possible.

Note: Be careful when transferring hosting or domains across consoles if you have emails attached to your account, as sometimes you may lose all of your emails when the domain/nameservers switch.
